I Will Love You Ev'ry Time lyrics

The Fureys

Ev'ry time I hear a sweet bird singing
I think of you and I my love,
I think of you and I
And when I hear the evenin' bells a ringing
I hang my head and cry my love,
I hang my head and cry

[Chorus]
I will love you, I will love you...
When we are gone
I will love you, I will love you...
When we are gone

[Instrumental]

Ev'ry time I hear your soft voice humming
My heart jumps in my breast my love
My heart jumps in my breast
And until I hear your footsteps coming
My heart can know no rest my love
My heart can know no rest

I will love you, I will love you...
When we are gone
I will love you, I will love you...
When we are gone

[Instrumental]

I will love you, I will love you...
When we are gone

[Instrumental]

The Fureys

Writer: Tom Paxton - originally released in 1966 as "Everytime" on his album "The Things I Love".

The Fureys recorded their version of the song in 1988 and it was released on their album "The Fureys Finest" (pictured).

Brief: The Fureys changed the original title, "Everytime", as it was a bit ambiguous and could be interpreted in a number of different ways. The Fureys thought their title was more clear and concise and perfectly captured the song's sentiment of eternal love.
